I’m Ele, a 30 something living in London and this is my little corner of the internet dedicated to all things running and training.
In 2020 I trained by myself for my first ever long distance event – the elusive London Marathon 2020 with all its postponements, cancellations and virtual versions (thanks Covid-19). I ran my first marathon in October 2020 and was determined to tick the ACTUAL London Marathon off my bucket list, given that I was fortunate enough to have a charity place for it. This finally happened in October 2021 – yippee!
Since then, I have run three marathons, several half marathon and 10k races, joined the ParkRun community and a local running club, and I’ve also started this blog and post regularly on my Instagram running page.

Looking back, I wish I had started blogging my training journey earlier. However, now that I’ve completed my marathon goal and (somewhat surprisingly) actually continued lacing up my trainers and pounding the pavements, I thought I would start here instead. I learnt a hell of a lot during the training cycles and I’ve got my eye on other events and races in future so I thought I would share what I can with other people this way.
I would love to hear about other peoples running stories and what they are up to at the moment, whether that’s their first dabble into a few km’s or people in the ultra world!
I am looking forward to building the blog and the community around it as well as hopefully encouraging people to start getting outdoors themselves – I know that it takes a while of thinking ‘am I a proper runner yet?’ to realise that in fact, if you go out and run, then yes you are!
Please do get in touch! You can find me on Instagram too on @chasingele
